Dries Van Noten, one of the most successful members of the renowned Antwerp Six, started his own collection in 1986. The shape in his collections, some of which appear season after season, are conventionally feminine and invariably flattering, smartly crafted and architecturally sound. Van Noten is known for his gifted sense of color, with a rich vocabulary of tone and hue that certain shades, once seen, are impossible to associate with anything other than his clothes. The colors and patterns themselves are memorable on their own, but it's their unexpected relationships and juxtapositions that are so effortless and revelatory.
